Will we ever see a player pull a Tim Duncan in college ball?

In case you didn't know, Timothy would have been a top draft pick at anytime he declared. But he was very serious about his education, as he waited all 4 years after he finished his degree to pursue his NBA career. This is one of the many things that i like about Timmy. I just cant see another athlete pulling this move.

We could have a potential one if Marcus Smart stays another year.

And then stay with the same NBA team his entire career.

by top pick you mean first round or first overall?

Andrew Luck plays in the NBA?

I dont think Marcus Smart will, and I don't know if it'll ever happen again. I know Jabari Parker really values his education be he gone. I dont blame the guys for leaving so the can make millions for 3 more years.

he said college ball and athlete. He didn't specify NBA.

I am surprised more centers don't spend an extra year or two in college developing legit low post moves before jumping to the NBA and getting their arse kicked their first few years.

No...especially since they can leave after 1 year. College football is different, they cannot leave till after their 3rd year, so they only lose potential earnings for 1 year instead of 3.

Noah passed on being the #1 overall pick to come back for his junior year at UF

He was hoping an extra year in college would make him better looking. Didn't work out.

Not at all.

He also said athlete pursuing a career in the NBA. That phrasing certainly specified "in the NBA."

Laettner and Grant Hill both played 4 years and would have been #1 or close to it after their Jr years, but I don't think you'll see many doing that anymore. Too many Matt Barkley type stories out there.

I do wonder how different Tim's legacy would've been if he bolted to Orlando to pair with Grant Hill and McGrady...

No he said TIM DUNCAN waited to pursue a career in the NBA.
Quit being a dick.

You don't see the difference though? Luck had to wait longer due to nfl versus nba rules. Tim had the option to go earlier because of the one an done
