Look at it as another tool auburn has to beat Bama in the Iron Bowl.

Next year it might be in our interests for Bama to win the Iron Bowl. Although I really think Auburn is a one-year wonder.

I don't get why any top flight WR would sign w/ Auburn.

Prior to this year you could have easily said the same thing about LSU. Toliver, Randle, Sheppard (even though he wasn't recruited as a WR) as well as other WR were at times largely forgotten in the LSU offense. Randle was the #1 WR in the country and had to watch guys like AJ Green and Julio Jones have great careers, while he was barely a blip on the radar until 2011.

AU doesn't throw it much now, but I'm sure thats due to a first year QB who they don't have a ton of confidence in throwing the ball. Believe me, I am no Auburn fan but I'll give Malzahn his due as a great offensive mind. There's no doubt that he'll find a way to get Williams the ball next year. The sigings of Dupree, Quinn and Noil would soften the blow significantly, but it sucks to see a great player go to an SEC rival.

Not exactly. We threw the ball a lot more than Auburn, but weren't terribly effective. Still, we threw it. Also, AJ Green and Julio Jones have since shown themselves to be superior talents.

I hope you are joking. This recruiting class is the exact opposite of a decline.

I love Rueben, but comparing him to Julio Jones and AJ Green is kinda silly at this point. You are talking about 2 of the top 5 WRs in football. Julio didn't blow up in college, his combine made his draft position. Julio and Rueben had almost identical stats as Sophomores.

never forget coaches interview during iron bowl "we need to run it more" after having only thrown six passes the whole half. Not how i would want to showcase my receiving skills.... but hope things go well for him kind of think this guy needs reset button on his career.

Really would've loved to have Quille sign with LSU, but good luck to the young man....except for when he plays LSU.

Well, Malzahn saying he's going to throw it more only hurts his offense with Marshall running it.

I don't believe him. When the chips are down, he's going to do what he said he was going to do against Bama at the half. They had already run the vast majority of plays and he said they were going to run it more! Lol

And Bama's safeties were playing the run, too.

The way I look at it, If the best receiver in the NFL can play at Georgia Frickin Tech, what does it matter?

Bottom line here is that LSU played risk management and made a wise decision regardless of how things turn out for DW. Good luck to him.
