since it seems impossible to get on Hawkeye Nation...i think the tiger rant gets more posts in an hour than their football board might get in a week!!!!

how much does one pay for a season ticket in a prime location of Iowa's stadium?

do you have to pay a tradition fund on top of your ticket price?

do you pay for parking? how much?

same question for RV parking?

do you have an "Neville Chamberlin" for an athletic director that likes nothing more than to give up a good OOC game at home to go to Dallas or Houston to play at the beginning of the season? i think the simple fact that Iowa fans don't get is that LSU started the season with what is pretty much a bowl game and already know that in September LSU will be in Houston to play another Big 1G team...

there is a certain amount of fatigue in the LSU fan base at this point and economic conditions aren't helping...

Stop going to the neutral site games and also stop watching them on TV. That's the only way to make them stop. Stop the revenue stream. Until LSU, and college football fans in general, are willing to do that, all the bitching is pointless. Money talks and has a voice much louder than the Rant.

Iowa has too many boards so they are watered down.

Best one is probably the rivals board then prob hawkeye insider?

Its been yrs since I had season. tickets and they've changed the deal quite a bit I believe.

You have to be at certain donor levels to get tickets now

who gives a frick what Iowa fans have to pay? what has Iowa football done in the last 10yrs compared to our record? what are Iowa's facilities like and what is their gameday experience compared to ours? yeah, the fees keep going up but if your want to support an elite program that is the price you have to pay. Alleva is doing his job by creating and enhancing revenue streams to fund and improve. we all wish prices were like the 'good ole days' but that was then and the now, regretably, demands increasingly more resources. you can always choose to down size to ULM or McNeese or someone else who does not add to you "fatigue" or strain your bottom line.

Good Lord.

I doubt Iowa folks pay as much as LSU fans simply because CFB likely isn't as popular up there as it is in the South. I don't love how much I have to pay for my season tickets, but it is evident that many LSU fans don't understand that college football, especially in the SEC is big business. LSU charges a premium for tickets, parking, TAF fees, etc because the fanbase will pay it. Once fans stop paying what LSU charges, prices will plateau. It's business. Why do you think Apple charges $500 for an iPad? Because idiots continue to line up overnight to get one.

As far as the neutral site OOC games are concerned, I, like you, as a season ticket holder absolutely hate them. The end result is I get to pay for 3 crappy OOC games in my season ticket package, and am forced to pay an additional premium for the one good OOC game (which I don't do). Nevertheless, a big part of the AD's job is to maximize the profit of his product. I doubt LSU would agree to the neutral-site OOC games if it wasn't lucrative for the athletic dept. Business-wise, I understand what the AD does.

In so far as LSU fans not being happy about playing a Big 10 in Tampa, there are a few solutions:

A. Don't travel to the game, and the next time the New Years Day bowl selection committees come around they'll let LSU fall to the Independence or Liberty Bowls because they won't be able to make money off of their appearance because the fans don't want to travel to the game.

B. The team could finish better than 5th in the SEC. The Sugar Bowl is not going to take LSU just because LSU fans don't think they're team should have to "lower" itself to play a top-4 Big 10 team

Someone said Iowa has an AD that keeps getting bent over by Ferentz's very savy agent. That said they have a pretty financially sound athletic operation in Iowa City.

I hear JA say it's for recruiting purposes to get exposure in the Dallas and Houston markets, but even if that's true he can't expect Louisiana-based LSU fans to be happy with having to travel anywhere for 6 to 8 hours to see a 'home' game. Especially since it has become an almost every season occurrence. If they did it maybe every 3 or 4 years, it would be "special" but the way it's being done now, it's not special at all.
