Gus Malzahn: Age 48 - first year as head coach of Auburn. Has Auburn in BCS title game, and was offensive coordinator at Auburn in 2010 when they won BCS title. Only has two years of college head coaching experience.
Already signed an extension with Auburn, just like Nick Saban with Alabama (both done due to the crazy, unconfirmed rumors that they wanted the Texas head coaching job).

His name can be taken off.

Personally, I think Malzahn is not big enough for the Texas job...he only has two seasons as a head coach and only one at a big program. He is in the title game mostly on luck. I think he is still a risk.

Dantonio should be tier 1. Defense and power run attack is always a good formula for championships, especially if you have the athletes. Looking at shaggybevo, it seems those guy have no faith in that model.

Oh well they can have Briles and run into the same problems OU has had on the big stage against big boy defenses.

Why isn't David Shaw on one of the lists? he's the most accomplished coach out there at the highest level program from which Texas could pull. I think he'd be perfect for Texas. He's cerebral, not annoying, and extremely accomplished.
It's not some silly "black thing" as Strong and Franklin (extremely annoying) are there.
