Last years raise was cooked up by both Miles' agent and Alleva. He couldn't give him a raise after the debacle of 2011, so they needed another reason. Miles' agent was unhappy he wasn't rolled over, this was the perfect reason to bring it to the board. The problem is the horrible contract, we can't fire Miles even if we wanted to. That is why we should can Alleva.

If Texas is dumb enough to pay him much more let him go.

you mean the racket that agents who represent coaches have figured out?

Unless they could guarantee a homerun hire like a Jimbo Fisher...they can't let him walk. It's too risky.

odds are we'd end up with Tuberville...

Miles to Texas rumors to get more money out of LSU

If LSU beats Iowa in the bowl game, Miles absolutely deserves a raise, based on the current market.

IMO, Bama and Saban didn't screw up the market but A&M sure did. They are paying $5m to Sumlin, whose best finish is 3rd in the West and one of the worst defenses in the league.

Miles SHOULD make more money than Sumlin.

Oh, no, no, no. Le$ Mile$ would never consider such a thing. He loves LSU too much to ever try to pull the disloyal schemes that Nick Satan does.

Unlike Nick Satan, Le$ is a fine, fine man. Perish the thought that he'd ever try to advance his income from LSU by manipulating circumstances that he's not involved in. Mile$ is not like Satan and all those "lesser men" who coach at other schools. He's different. He's special. Le$ Mile$ is a TIGER!

I know this things are true, not because I've ever heard them coming from the communities at Michigan, Colorado, Okie State or the Dallas Cowboys, but because I read them on the Rant.

You really think Les has no say in this scam? I don't blame him one bit for squeezing Alleva if he keeps upping the ante every time Les sneezes from his alien nostrils.

He has the same agent as Saban... Sexton just working down the list.

if miles wants to get market prices every year, he shouldn't have signed a multi-year deal

contracts are about risk, and he decreased his overall risk with the years of the contract. at the same time, he risked the market shifting during the life of his deal.

that argument won't hunt

Aggy overpaying the frick out of their coach is no reason for LSU to overpay the frick out of it coach even more.

It still pisses me the frick off how Les was able to swindle LSU out of a raise, despite a mediocre several seasons outside of 2011.

you need to look up the definition of the word 'mediocre'.

You do realize the role of the agent is to negotiate the best deal for their client?

You don't know how this works. Rumors float by "sources" and not by agents. Word is"sources" do not want coaches not rumored. IIWIS.

It was either us paying him $5 million or USC paying him $5 million. We're not overpaying if that's what the market proves he's worth. Also, we can afford it. Not sure LSU can.

I posted it because he attacked A&M and what I posted is the truth. Don't see how it rustled you, but whatever. Keep white-knighting for LSU, champ.
