back to how great Anderson is

He is the leader of the team. He's the one who gets players together between whistles. The young guys look for him for direction and support.

You know how much I like hashtags, but #glue.

re: The Real Value of Ryan Anderson

Like many have posted (I see you Quail), Anderson is a ridiculous weapon on offense.

The interesting thing I saw was how much better the rebounding has been. A team effort to be sure, but it has been a healthy jump regardless.

Anderson's on a great contract. He's not moving unless its in a package for a star wing.

I've said from Day 1 since the Asik trade ideas, Ryno's spacing on the floor is way too valuable to just flip like that

I've asked this before but no response... Asik will only be 8.5M against the cap number next season, the other 7M go where exactly?

His pockets

His deal was 5, 5, 15 and would have hit the Bulls that way, but for Houston and any team that trades for him the cap is essentially 8, 8, 8.

Sorry, back to Ryan Anderson is the next Dirk

Final Asik note: Rival execs believe Rockets have deal in place - Philly their educated guess - & looking for better one b4 pulling trigger

What is Asik's value considered if the Rockets net a Thad Young or Spencer Hawes?

I'm not saying, I'm just saying....

Pau Gasol for Asik + Lin works in the trade machine. Who says no?

Absolutely correct. This roster needs a floor spacer like that.

I don't buy it if its a straight trade, but if true Hinkie is doing his old boss a huge favor.

Houston begrudgingly says no. Pau/Dwight wont work in their offense.

Bird Writes with a very nice look at Anderson.

Wow, just wow. Who is the guy that wrote that? I know Anderson is really loved on this board, but this guy went overboard. Some of the stuff was just beyond reality. He actually compared Anderson to Batman. I don't even know how to react to that.

I love this line from the guy..

"His offensive rebounding rate might not be among the best (it's actually 35th among players who average 24+ MPG and played 12 games), but no one fights for offensive rebounds like Anderson. In this sense, he's more Kevin Love than anything. Love is more powerful and more athletic, but in terms of desire, both are unmatched in this area."

I mean come on, really?

No offense, but just a huge fluff piece glorifying Anderson's start of the year. I'm glad he is getting some good pub and I hope he keeps at it. But he was hot at the beginning of last year as well and his numbers slid right back to where they normally are. I'm pretty sure that'll happen again this year..

2/10

at least you read the article

quote:

just a huge fluff piece

ha. he says anderson has very serious flaws on defense. doesnt mean he isnt a HUGE plus on offense.

instead of focusing on the sillier aspects, why not talk about the data he presented on Anderson as a shooter (hes doing what Klay Thompson does) or how he rarely turns the ball over or his ability to grab contested rebounds (he's one of the best in the league) or the screen cap (his clear positive effect on the teams best players) I posted?

clearly the most important part of the piece is anderson = love as an offensive rebounder AND batman

Yeah, I'm fighting a losing battle on this topic as always. I just couldn't help myself, sorry.

Look at it this way. He may actually turn out to be as good as "all that". If so, that will be good thing right?
