3) would the "Big Oil" money at Texas have taken care of the Saban financial problems

Why does everyone think that UT is always "Big Oil" money? People do realize that there are "Big Oil" in LA/Alabama as well right?

They've "heard things" or they get confused and think the PUF can be used for things like this.

The developments in the Eagle Ford Shale and Permian Basin have made some already wealthy people crazy wealthy

Because it furthers the agenda. I love chicken, and don't get me wrong, but half the reason he is allowing this fiasco to go unchecked is site hits. Pure and simple. There is exactly the same amount of confirmed and substantiated info that says he is staying as there is that says he gone. Zero.

exactly. just off the coast there are oil rigs everywhere. there's also natural gas and coal in Bama, too.

there's going to be a certain threshold out there that even the richest person or people would look at something and realize it's not worth that much. Is winning a natty and having bragging rights for a short time worth 100 or 150 million dollars?

Sure, what Bama has been paying for Saban up till now has been worth it since it helped Bama grow the school, but from what I understand TX doesn't need any help in that department...?

It is on a completely different scale (even with all of the new Haynesville Shale money). Texas just has a lot more money and a lot more people with a lot of money.

Lol at the idea that La or Al or both combined have anywhere near the Oil money that the state of Texas has. And like another poster has already said, a lot if this money has direct ties to UT.
