A lot of people seem to forget that what is cold to us is nto as cold to fish. Yes, when the water temp is low (mid to low 50's and less) they go deep.
But if temps are mid 50s and up, they move out onto flats and you'll catch them in 4-6 feet of water under a cork. we caught a 3 man limit of specs like this 2 weeks ago.
Last weekend, on Saturday, we caught a bunch of bass and reds in about 4 feet of water, in very small cuts, just slow reeling soft plastics. Water was actually pretty warm, which the air was not.
