Shin-Soo Choo rejected a seven-year, $140 million contract offer from the Yankees, reports Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan.
That's a blessing in disguise. With seeing that, I really hope my Rangers completely forgets this dude is on the market.

If that's true, than that's stupidity on a Latrell Sprewell level.

I sure don't like that the Astros name keeps popping up in the background with Choo.
I give Luhnow enough credit to believe he's not dumb enough to sign Choo to a 7 year deal.

He'll probably sign him then trade him to a contender mid season for a crap ton of prospects.

not just the money either. 7 years is ridiculous. Now it's up to 8?

20 million is an insane amount for any player much less one who will become a platoon player

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Rockies have acquired Drew Stubbs from the Indians in exchange for left-hander Josh Outman.

My thoughts exactly. Usually when a guy gets that kind of a deal, it would suggest that he has had a run of dominance, or at the very least been very good for several years.
Jogging my memory, i cant remember Choo standing out that much, and I watch a ton of baseball.

Boston acquired Franklin Morales from Colorado in May of 2011 and now three years later the Red Sox have traded him back to the Rockies.
Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports that the Red Sox will send the Rockies 27-year-old Triple-A reliever Chris Martin in addition to Morales, who had a 3.90 ERA in 134 innings for Boston while splitting time between the bullpen, rotation, and disabled list.

Choo has been consistent that's his main selling point.... He was underrated in Cleveland and now may be overrated as a FA

Cubs sign Jonathan Sanchez to a minor league deal
Luke Scott heads to Korea for less than MLB minimum, you would think he could at least have gotten MLB minimum from a team as a reserve bench player.

Big news from Japan this morning. The New York Times passes along reports from Japan that the Rakuten Golden Eagles will not post Masahiro Tanaka. Rather, as reported last night, they are going to offer him a contract in the neighborhood of $8 million and force him to stay in Japan.

I think it's a good thing they lowered the posting fee. What did the Rangers spend, like $50M just for the right to negotiate with Darvish
