They would have to give up their supplemental pick in the early 30s they received from Baltimore in the Norris trade.

I think thats just as big a deal as the money.

Reds apparently in the hunt for Infante.

Probably made up by his agent to get the Yankees to pay up.

For Luhnow, it is. Dude values his top picks as if they were gold bouillon.

A lot of money for him... I mean, they desperately needed a 2B, but a price to pay for a decent, not great player.

Yankees sign Brian Roberts to a 1 year deal worth 2million, I like this move even though he's been injured a lot over last 3-4 years

Yeah that's a relatively safe deal that could pay dividends if Roberts can avoid the DL

Going to split with Kelly Johnson and Yankees shouldn't be done as they may bring Mark Reynolds or Eric Chavez back to help with 3B/1B options.
A lot depends on health of Jeter but I think an OF of Gardner, Ellsbury, Soriano will work pretty well.

I actually really like that OF. Soriano still has pop in his bat and it seriously showed after he came back to NY. Not a whole lot will hit the OF grass with Ells and Gardner.

We should start a pool taking bets on what Girardi will call Ellsbury. I'm thinking Coby. MAYBE Ellsy. "We really like our outfield this year. You have plenty of speed between Gardy and Coby. Sory also adds some power."

ETA: "We're also excited about having Chavy back with the team. Canny should finally give us some consistency behind the plate too."

Loved the Cards signing Mark Ellis as a solid bench bat and glove, and for a backup option if Wong shits the bed or hits a wall at some point.

Reports are they plan on splitting them early in the year, if Wong lights it up then he will take over full time duties
