Any other LSU fans think Saban to Texas is not a good thing for LSU?

He will still poach recruits out of our backyard and Alabama will still be a very strong program.

It could be like having to compete with two Sabans, not just the one in Alabama.

Like wise man say, be careful what you wish for.

Kids wouldn't go to Alabama if he wasn't there, IMO.

They go where Saban is at. Not because of the hillbilly, kill the kicker fanbase/program.

He does that now! Pretty much gets almost every player he wants from La especially North La. where the distance from there to Tuscaloosa is about the same to BR.

I feel the same. He will get most of the Texas high school players. Plus some Louisiana players.

It would be somewhat of a trade off. Bama would slowly stop getting top notch LA kids, but then we may not be able to get so many studs from Texas like we do now.

However, above all, I just wanna see the gump fans melt.

he'll still poach recruits but we won't have to play them every year.

I don't think any other potential Alabama coach could have as much success with Louisiana recruits... not out of the gates, at least.

Texas recruits Texas first and foremost. They have far more recruits to choose from than the state of Alabama. These LA kids arent going to bama to be at bama, they were going to be a part of Saban's program. So with Saban at Texas, they could still choose to do that - but they wouldnt be playing in the SEC which is obviously a plus (look at A&Ms recruiting since moving to the SEC).

I'd think it wouldn't be good for A&M but look at success auburn has had here and there with saban at bama.

We'd get killed in recruiting, especially in-state.

They can't get every Texas recruit.

Plus, we wouldn't have to play him every year.

So I'm ok with him going to UT.

other than not playing having to play him every year, yeah, it would be horrible for LSU and for the rest of college football.

With how weak the Big 12 is, he would have an even easier path to the NC every year

and he would get all the top Texas kids, and still poach some top LA talent

1. He can only sign 25 a year, give or take a few. There are is an absurd amount of talent in TX, and he can't get them all. If UT and A&M get every single Texas recruit they want, there are still tons of great players available.

2. He won't be as motivated to poach LA, because of the talent in his own backyard, and LSU won't be a conference rival anymore. It's more to his benefit to steal a recruit from Baylor or OU.

3. We wouldn't play him in the regular season any more. Whoever replaces him at Bama won't be any better, and will almost surely be a step down.

4. For the posters who say "he gets anybody he wants in LA," that is objectively false. He whiffs on more than he gets. He will whiff on more than he gets this year.

It only takes one bad hire to destroy all that he built at BAMA. Most people don't understand how delicate a football program can be.

A strong Texas will sign 20 kids a year out of Texas. No need to dip into Louisiana as much as he is now.

Get Saban out of the SEC WEST. Don't care if he's at texas. Don't want to play him every year unless its for National Championships...

It would make all of the SEC a little bit weaker

ALabama will crash back to earth. You remember Alabama from say 1995 - 2007?
