I hear it almost everyday from recruits, coaches or parents. Yes they read it and yes it affects them. LSU fans have garnered the reputation of being quick to turn on you. The negativity towards the program on a board also plays on their minds. I got a message last night from a LSU commitment concerned about what he was reading. It is a lot more frequent than people want to accept or admit.

This was in response to a question about whether or not he thought recruits read these chat forums and if he thought it affected them. So watch what you say folks! Keep it positive and it will go a long way to benefit us in the end!

Yet another reason why opposing fans should be denied access here,Bama in particular.

So they go to Bama where they threaten to kill you if you miss field goals. Sounds logical

It's having a much bigger effect in the real world than more a message board.

Lots of LSU "fans" talk about how stupid les is year round.

That's the problem.

Our fellow LSU fans are too stupid to see this. They also think that just because they have the right to post their opinions that they can be ugly about a recruit and it doesn't matter because they can post what they want. They are so caught up in the idea that they have a right to their opinion that they don't realize it affects the way recruits feel about a school and it's fan base.

Basically, these people are your entitled arse hats who can do and say whatever they want and you have to like it, agree with it, and respect it.

I believe in keeping it positive but when a recruit says "I'm going to find out who my real fans are" then chooses our biggest and most hated rival. Give me a break. We just found out who his real friends are and it's not the Tigers. If you want Tiger fans to like you and be a fan of yours then choose wisely, that means choose the Tigers or accept the fact that we aren't going to like you. What the hell is so hard to figure out.

People need to realize until they sign their LOI, even if it's highly unlikely, things can still happen. What's the point of sitting behind your computer crapping on these kids? It's certainly doesn't help the cause. So many butt hurt adults acting like 4 year olds after an instate kid chooses to go elsewhere... and they're suppose to be the immature teenagers.

I do agree with you to a point, but I mean seriously what fan base isn't like this? Every day you hear different horror stories of fans blowing up athlete's Twitter, or whatever, full of death threats and what not. Unfortunately it's part of the game and if you are using that as an excuse not to go to a certain University there is a bigger problem and you are just using that as your scapegoat. When you are in the spotlight you are going to get criticism, it's part of it.

I agree with this.

TD admin needs to slow this stuff down. They have to be quicker to ban stupid people.

I dont even read game day threads any more the knee jerk reactions are HORRIBLE. Also when we lose a recurit to anybody it is not doom or gloom. And please get off them kids when they made a choice. It is ok the coaching staff is going to find some one else to fill his spot.

I don't trash kids. I may disagree with others about their abilities, but I'm respectful about it.

If recruits get that bothered by what a random message board person says, most of which never played football, then that says more about them. All fans talk trash about their teams. It's not just LSU. None of these trash talkers would ever think about saying this to your face. If it bothers you, don't read it. But also know that every school has these fans.

Then we need our coaches telling these kids that TD is a board that ALL fan bases can come to and spout any opinion they have.

Other schools won't allow this (especially Bama).

THEN show them the stupid shite going on after they lost to AU.

I've been saying this for a while.

This board is bad and the LSU bums on twitter.

I think the recruiting board should be member approved or something.

Didn't realize all these "tough" bad arse recruits were so sensitive! My God, they are in for a real shock when they enter the real world. If they let a small % of fans who talk bad about them influence where they go to school, see ya!

I blame this on Chicken and the admin of this board.

Because if they are doing this for advertising dollars I get it. But if they are doing for the Love of LSU sports they should police this crap better.

Only place I see the negative bad mouthing to be fit is score board during the game. That is a place were emotions run high.

But for people that consistently spew propaganda to get coaches fired or dog kids that commit elsewhere and down talk entire units and current players shouldn't be allowed.

You guys curse fans out for dumb stuff very little unity on this board unless you are part the same thinking. If someone challenges you then its eat a dick go frick yourself.

THIS FALLS ON THE SHOULDERS OF THE PEOPLE WHO RUN THIS BOARD!

If you want freedom of speech start your own board. But don't dog out your team coaches, players recruits etc.

That vocal minority that has spouted ridiculous things about Landon Collins (and more recently Cam Robinson) won't comment a bit on this thread.

Some mentioned things about their families, their future employment in the state of La., etc.....

It was all embarrassing to read the crap that "diehard" LSU fans would write, when they were really representing us in a loser-like fashion.

I was puzzled when the admins of this board would not whack a thread about that crap.

To all that can't comprehend this:

You can't scare a recruit into liking your favorite team.

Talking about him, or his family in a negative way won't provoke any positive feelings, or provoke any fear in not choosing your favorite team.

Suggesting that you spoke to the CEO of your "Large, International Corporation" and that "he said he will never offer a North La. prospect that didn't choose LSU is not credible...if it is the truth, then your CEO and you are a couple of losers.

Anything that acts on the feelings, family, or vocational future of a recruit is OFF LIMITS.

The fact that someone had to write this is ABSURD. You should know this already. The fact that you are confusing idiocy with being passionate makes you completely insane.

on the flipside,
Tigerbaiting
Good humored ribbing, etc is healthy....but basing your life on the decisions of 17 year olds makes you a loser.
