LSU's Recruiting Budget...

Is this public information? I just read on this board that Vanderbilt has a larger recruiting budget than LSU. Is this factual? If so, please provide link. I can't fathom LSU not having a national top 10 budget for recruiting. Is there some sort of rule? Can TAF fund this subsidy? If anyone is in the know, please educate me on this.

Certainly we could take 100k pounds off of Coach Stud and apply that to the Recruiting budget.

i have a hard time believing this is a big issue.
lsu fans saw a list of budgets with lsu low coupled with us losing a couple instate kids, now everyone is freaking out like we're poor.
we recruit and land kids from new jersey, north carolina, and california. If Miles needed more money he could get it.
Losing instate kids like CROB and Hootie is not because of a lack of recruiting budget.

I disagree. We are allowed an unlimited staff now and Bama is hiring HS coaches by the dozens. Get a guy in good with a recruit, hire him for 150k a year.
Hire him and buy him a bunch of Bama gear and a fly ride and let him shuttle them to all the Bama events.
Let em coach some kids at a camp.
It is EXACTLY how they flavor Monroe.

So you feel that Alabama spending so much money is a waste then?

so, is this what Hootie was talking about when he said in that interview that nobody recruited him harder than Bama...including Les and LSU ?

Saban wins because he has the best players. He gets the best players because he gets the best intel and leaves no stone unturned when it comes to new, progressive ways to recruit. Then he is great in the living room and has the record to prove it... Les is missing something...

Wow Alabama spent 980,000 dollars in a year. We spent less than Memphis and Nebraska with 300k to 450k a year in recruiting. Auhurn and florida budget also spent more. Not very much to say we are a top program and have to recruit outstanding to continue that trend.

If those numbers are accurate, then I'd say Les has done more with less than just about any coach. It is kind of embarrassing that LSU spends so little compared to the other top programs. Seems like that has to change.

Alabama outspends us tenfold in recruiting.
There are huge sums of money they don't add in that count for millions, specifically the totally legal practice of hiring all of these camp coaches and film analysts.

They changed NCAA rules a year ago. Staffs can be unlimited, but the new hires have major restrictions on coaching active plays on roster.
Zero recruiting restrictions, ZERO

We should be concerned that we somehow CUT 150k off the budget while teams like Bama added 110k.
All while having the second highest paid coaching staff.
So sounds like LSU is putting its money into coaching up players instead of getting the best players.

Two thing:1) LSU does not need an obese person representing the University 2) the Athletic Dept. needs some smarter people running it....money talks these days; everything else walks like a duck!
