I figured on two losses. Was not happy about the Ole Piss loss. Was hoping to see improvement in the offense and was hugely surprised by how improved it actually was. Was disappointed in the Defense but they got up to par by the end of the season.

I'm hopeful going into next year. I think we've got a chance. That's all I ask for.

I don't care who they play for the bowl game. I just want the tenth win. (I am not confident playing Baylor.)

If they win the bowl game, I'm fine with the season.

They fell short of my expectations but mostly because I think we will win the national title every year (and I believe we can win it next year). I am not upset about this year though. With all of the early departures to the NFL last year, this is a pretty good season. It can always be worse, just look at Florida this year.

They met expectations. It was not a magical season, but it was solid and LSU still is a relevant program at season's end.

Arkansas is not good but that game was the only dramatic game we won this year so it stands out.

if you are 32 years old or older = successful

if you are under 32 = disappointment

it's a generation thing.

Same here.
And I guess I'm one of the few people who expected Terrence Magee to have a big year. In prior years I noticed he always hit the hole really fast. He just needed to add some strength. He added the strength and Voila.

I expected 11-1, maybe 10-2, with a loss to Alabama, and maybe A&M. They fell short of my expectations.

One can't complain about the game against a full strength Georgia team. LSU played a good game.

I thought LSU could lose 3 games and with some luck lose two. The early game at UGA was a lot to ask to W with such a young D going against a seasoned productive offense.

On offense, yeah. D, no, it was terrible against the run and pass until Gurley departed, and the pass D was terrible throughout. New players or not, the D never came together for the most part as the only consistency was really bad stretches during games that put a lot of pressure on the offense to produce.

UF win, going against a one dimensional/terrible offense, and TAMU game, going against a terrible D that projected to have little improvement from 2012, was a game LSU should win.

Given the way the season rolled out for opponents, LSU should have been capable of putting up 10 W's, I think Miles would say the same, the OM game was an abortion anyway one cares to evaluate it especially playing a team missing so many defenders. Would have been nice to get UGA at home and LSU might have won, but ifs and nuts....

I thought LSU lost to one opponent that was clearly better, one that was fairly even at they time the match up occurred, and one they had no business losing to, but it happens in the SEC more often than not. If both the AU and TAMU games had been played in dry weather things could have gotten even more interesting.

Overall Record - Met my expectations.
Offense - Exceeded my expectations.
Defense - Fell short of my expectations.

* Overall, one of the most boring years I can remember due to awful scheduling. The last 3 minutes of the season were a bright spot... so, there's that.

ETA: TAMU game was the high-point.

If anyone says that they met their expectation, I would be surprised. And even worse, those that said we would go undefeated are just as bad. How many starters left on defense? Was our schedule hard? I expected 2 losses but nothing more so I would def say I was disappoint.

Fell woefully short. I don't base it on wins and losses I base it on continuing improvement. Look at Auburn that team got better ever week. This Lsu team lacks discipline and motivation. They play to the level of their opponent. Arkansas outplayed is in every phase of the game. Miles, the o line coach are just flat out bad coaches. People want to laud all this praise on Miles but take any sec coach and put him in Les's spot and he wins more games it's just that simple. If a guy has 4 offsides penalties he is don't push-ups on the sideline. Sloppy play!

It was pretty close to what I expected. The Georgia loss was respectable and the Alabama loss was not surprising...though the Ole Miss loss was neither respectable nor unsurprising.

There's promise for next season though.

Here's what the folks at collegefootballnews.com predicted for our season. They saw us losing to Ole Miss but predicted we would beat UGA.

LINK Scroll to the bottom to see their pre-season assessment

___________________________________

Non-Conference Games: TCU, UAB, Kent State, Furman
Games Against The East: at Georgia, Florida
Realistic Best Case Record: 12-0
Worst Case Record: 8-4
Likely Finish: 10-2

Pre-Preseason Projected Wins: TCU, UAB, Kent State, Auburn, at Georgia, at Mississippi State, Florida, Furman, Texas A&M, Arkansas

Pre-Preseason Projected Losses: at Ole Miss, at Alabama

Schedule Analysis: The Tigers play UAB in the second game of the season and get Furman in late October. That’s it for the breaks and breathers considering TCU is going to be stronger this season in the opener in Arlington, and Kent State is still going to be decent after coming achingly close to getting into the BCS. Even so, 4-0 is more than likely with Auburn to kick off the SEC season after the date with the Golden Flashes, and then comes the problem.

With all due respect to South Carolina, the two teams no one wants to face from the East are Georgia and Florida, and LSU gets them both with the date with the Dawgs starting out a run of three road games in four weeks. After going between the hedges, it’s more cowbell time at Mississippi State before hosting Florida and going to Ole Miss. The Tigers should be the better team, but what kind of a state will they be in against the Rebels? Fortunately, Furman and a week off should recharge the batteries before the showdown at Alabama, and another bye week is a godsend before hosting Texas A&M and Arkansas.

Short. Could have gone 12-0 with this offense and just an average LSU defense. Should have gone 11-1 considering the sound loss in Tuscaloosa.

Miles has to right this ship in a hurry when it comes to recruiting and coaching changes. Chief has to overhaul the defense, and will get some help with some top recruits on his side of the ball.

fell short. I figured we would lose 2 out of bama,a&m,uga and uf before the season but then once we looked good early i thought we could have a special season. The loss to uga didn't bother me all that much other than our d being lost, ole miss is what caused the season to fall short.

qb play was a bright spot, running back and wr were as good as i thought. The oline was a major let down and it should cost stud his job.

tightends were meh almost all year.

on the defensive side of the ball linebacker play and dline play were as bad as i have seen. I saw hope in the secondary with how we owned a&m but then chavis puzzled me by benching robinson for arky. I hope to see Robinson as our top corner next year.

The team did give me hope though with the finish and if we pull in a huge class the excitement should be back for next year.

I will not mention players but I thought the team met expectations. Preseason I thought we would go 9-3. Although I did not factor in the OM loss or thought that Florida would be that bad. I felt like we would struggle on defense early and we did. In hindsight we could have easily have been 11-1. Not bad for a rebuilding year. Next year will be the exact opposite. The defense will have to carry the offense.

My feelings exactly.

Although, I'm not sure we'll struggle quite as much on offense next season as we did on defense this season.
