I'd be disappointed in myself for installing so much concern over a game into my young kid. That kid only cares bc his dad told him to care.

Nah.
You didn't watch sports as a kid, did you?
I remember every baseball/football game of my favorite team(s) being the most important game EVER.

When they advertise on TV that a family did not attend their daughter's wedding on a Saturday in Fall, you expect these incidents.
Next time an LSU fan talks about the game in religious terms, shut him down. For his sake. And his children.

Young kids have no control over their emotion. He'll some adults don't. That kid looked like he's not even in middle school. You just have to explain it's just a game and it will make next years more fun. I think as some of the other posters have mentioned. All dads should make sure that putting so much into the out come of a game can ruin a great experience.

Not an issue. He would be disappointed and kids cry when disappointed.
Anyone with kids know this is the only answer. I have tough boys, but I've seen them cry when momma changes the dinner
