Right now, we could be sitting with:

Vasquez
Gordon
Aminu
Davis
Noel

Moving forward into the 2014 lottery with a possibility to snag Wiggins or Parker to fill the 3...

As of now, it seems we have a team destined for 8-11th place in the west consistently, maybe sneaking into a 6-7 seed a couple years.

We're saddled with EG, TE, and JH's long-term, high dollar contracts, with AD going to command max money when his time comes.

meh

assuming that luck, that's really not that great and we'd have to wait 2-3 years AFTER this to become a playoff team

by that time gordon is gone and we have to try to find a backccourt

Vasquez(was the perfect time to sell him imo)
Gordon
Aminu(lol)
Davis
Noel(One knee and is redundant)

We sure as hell aren't going to go through another 26 win season just for a SHOT at one of those dudes(when half the league is doing the same)

Benson wants butts in seats and its worked fine for the most part(we won't know the true effect until football season ends.)

EG will probably be flipped to a desperate team for a 1st(which with the way he's playing we'll have takers)

Holiday and Tyreke have been very consistent lately

AD won't need a big time contract for a few years(which is an eternity in this league) so no worries.

Yes, and I said that from the minute we made the trade and acquired Evans.

I really think he f'ed us bigtime.

I thought the same thing at first (I was in the MCW camp)...but now I believe we have a top 10 player in the association. Maybe top 5 in a year or so.

Couple that with enough guard talent around him, we are a rebounder away from seriously contending in the next 2 years. Adjust the touches to feature Davis more and we near the top of the association.

The Benson "win now" hype is all bullshite. Yea he's old, but ESPN + Grantland have just taken to the inference that his age definitively means he'll do anything to win now. Benson's not putting pressure on anybody. Get over yourselves

Benson wanted to upgrade the team and he did.

Everybody keeps saying we could have Noel. He is not even playing. Plus do you know for a fact he will develop into a good player..NO...

Evans is a good pick up and so is Holiday. I do think we will need to move one of the 3 guards (Evans, Holiday or Gordon) and go for a solid 3

Ok superfan, Benson has been quoted himself as saying he wanted to win now. People aren't overhyping this.

Frankly, I prefer where we are now.

At least one of those pieces will be movable when and if the time comes.

We have talent this year. I'd much rather be where we are now. The last few years we gave our coach excuse that we had no talent. Get talent in and he has struggled early with talent that has played well in other places. If we tanked again and got a great player and we had another bad year we would be in another "we just need time to grow hes a rookie" type year. With limited minutes and poeple bitching that he's not playing enough.
This year with talent put the pressure on our coach. We find out this year if he can do it or not. We don't have to wait another 3 years because of lesser talent and us hoping this is the year it clicks.
Monty may adjust and pull through this adversity, but he no longer has the no talent excuse and now it's time to perform. Which I think is a good thing for our franchise to see what we got on the bench is good enough or not

Also as someone who has given a shite product way too much of my money the last 4 years I was happy that we looked like we were at least trying. I do find the people that want to tank and don't care about losing and willing to sacrifice seasons are the ones who don't really pay to go to games.

We've seen what crippling a franchise with win now really looks like. It looks like doubling down on guys on the decline. Demps doubled down on guys just hitting their primes. We also have yet to see what other moves will be made. The best Gordon trades we've come up with are slightly unrealistic, but all seem to be based around guys destined to be traded which means they might be sold somewhat low. Some sort of Gordon package for Monroe, or Wilson Chandler/Asik, or Verajao/Waiters changes the equation quite a bit. I also like Rivers/Aminu/Stiemsma for Jeff Green. On top of those moves, guys like Evans, Holiday and even Gordon should be young enough and talented enough that they'll keep improving like Davis. This team isn't nearly as "stuck" as many of you fear.

He's not only been quoted saying it, he was literally looking for Monty at the time to publicly put pressure on him.

Good point and absolutely correct. No guarantee it will work, but there are no guarantees in the NBA.

Again, correct.

Overall, the team still is a work in progress. I would not have been happy drafting and keeping Noel.

With Wiggins, Parker, or Smart we're instantly better than what we have with Gorgon in the backcourt. We're younger, cheaper and locked up for longer.
