Check craigslist in your area. There may not be much around New Iberia, but something may popup in the surrounding areas. I downloaded a craigslist app that sends me notifications every time somebody posts what I want. You can find some good scores on occasion.

Thanks for the link.
What do you use to play the lossless files on your system? Computer hooked up directly?

I have them on an old computer that I use as a music server on my home network. The OPPO can browse the network and play these files using it's high quality DAC.

Should I buy a separate dac for my iPod to improve the sound quality when I have it hooked up to my system?

It depends what type of files you have on your ipod. An outboard DAC won't do much for low resolution mp3s.

HD Tracks looks interesting, gonna try it out.
If I play an HD track over Bluetooth will the quality be degraded because it is not a main line into the system?

I'm really not sure.

I checked out In Rainbows in a lossless format.
The difference was huge. I could hear instruments and parts of the song I had never heard before. Was badass, might get some more albums in this form for my favorite bands

I listen to 95% of my stuff on either CD, SACD, or Blu-Ray. At some point in the future, I will probably start to move to file storage on a music server. Most of the music stored on my computer is ripped from discs, so it is all loseless. I refuse to go with compressed MP3's ,etc.
Some of your other questions:
If you are putting money into a good setup that is revealing, you definitely don't want to use an ipod, as your DAC. It's shitty. There are plenty of cost friendly options to avoid having to use it. If you are using a budget friendly boxed system from Best Buy or Crutchfield, then you probably won't be able to tell much of a difference.
If you plan on streaming, do it over wifi, not Bluetooth. Like the DAC scenario, it's all about what you are looking to get out of it.
Meridian G68SL Processor
Meridian 808.2 CD Player
McIntosh MC352 amp (Fronts)
B&W 802D's

The Meridian is incredible in 5.1, so I watch a ton of blu-ray concerts. This rounds out the system.

Agreed. The best work around for the iPod is the Arcam drDock. It is one of the few products I have heard that can make using iPod tolerable.

Bro, going from an iPod to a Meridian, McIntosh, and B&W setup is like going from a Civic to a Bugatti. There are plenty of good solutions in the middle for a lot less money. Is that really your setup?

shite dude I am totally jealous of your setup! I'd love to get ahold of some McIntosh gear, and those speakers are awesome.

The great thing about McIntosh on the used market is you can sell the same piece 10 years later and either break even or make a small profit. At some point, I would like to get some of their tube gear paired with a high end turntable.
The speakers are phenomenal when paired with the right amp. They are true studio monitors, so they have a reputation of being cold. I think the Macs pair up perfectly with them since they tend to have a warmer sound. The downside of course, if it's a shitty produced song, the speakers will let you know it. Ha.
