Thanks, I'll probably take the CAPM in a year or two, I've read that it's only valid for 5 years. Very doubtful that my employer will pay for it, because I'm not currently in a PM role.

I've seen in my experience that anyone who pays the money can get a PMP. That being said, I have no interest. I've also noticed that it doesn't teach people that certain methods only work in certain situations, i.e. using a CPI usually doesn't work on a lump sum job. It only teaches the methods and the formulas. I've seen clueless PMs who've gotten PMP certs and then got fired or moved. I am a CM with an MBA fwiw.
