Has anyone taken/passed the PMP exam from the Project Management Institute? Any particular stories worth sharing with regards to hiring and the cert's worth?
Thanks.

I've got mine. Really depends on the field you work in or want to work in.

IT projects seem to put a premium on having it. I work in O&G and it's doesn't mean much.

If you have experience managing projects of any real size you should be able to pass after reading a few books and taking some practice exams.

I do know the testing recently changed to coincide with the release of the 5th edition of PMBOK.

The IT company I work for pretty much makes it a requirement for PMs we hire.

I'll be getting mine early next year, but I'm the only PM in my group without it, I believe.
