I disagree. I think that if he "can" graduate this summer, it probably means that he has a good bit of work left. This work couldn't be done if he is prepping for the combine etc. If anything this could mean he stays for his Sr. year.

He is one of the greater LSU football enigmas of all time. Arguably one of the top RB's in the SEC in 2011 and is virtually non existent since then.

Congrats to him on hopefully getting that degree. Talent wise, I just don't think he has the speed to play in the league. Reminds me of Charles Scott. If he does declare, I wish him the best, but would be surprised if he's on an NFL roster next September. JMO

that we have a problem with s&c.

I know it's very rare and extremely difficult to believe, but every now and then the problem is with the player himself...perish the thought, I know...

He needs an OL that can consistently get him to the 2nd level before being touched. He's not going to make anyone miss in the hole...but if he gets to the 2nd level, he's a beast to bring down and has deceptive speed to break away.

I really thought that our OL this year was going to be more dominant. And, I thought that Hilliard would be more effective because of that. It just didn't happen enough.

I don't think graduation should have anything to do with it honestly.

His decision should be made based on his prospects in the NFL. If he's confident in getting drafted, he should leave...whether he graduates or not.

If he isn't confident in being drafted...AND, he thinks he can improve on that evaluation next year by coming back...he should come back.

Under certain circumstances he could transfer and be eligible to play immediately if he does graduate.

If he graduates he can transfer wherever he wants and not have to sit out.

He could transfer somewhere else and get serious PT in his final year of eligibility.

This is what Ford should have done, IMO. I think it would be a reasonable decision for Hilliard as well assuming he doesn't see a path to playing time next year here.

Yeah, I was talking about the NFL draft...the transfer makes a lot more sense.

But, he could always move down a division as well...which has worked out for many RBs.

I totally agree. Certainly in 2012.

Kenny did rededicate himself to football. He lost weight and came back in great shape. It just didn't happen for him. I don't think this year was for lack of effort. Maybe the previous year but not this one.

I don't know, but Miles and Co. need to start work on retaining some of these juniors. I think we lost a college record of 10 last year and could lose another 5 or 6 this year. That's a tough blow to overcome no matter how well you are recruiting. Experienced talent is a major factor in success and young talent takes a while to develop.

Really happy for him, but if he declares for the NFL draft, it's probably less likely that he graduates in the summer, isn't it? Don't most of the guys take off the spring semester to prepare for the draft? As for the summer, he'll be busy preparing for the opening of camp.

I might be wrong about it all, but it seems to be what most of the guys do. Either way, I hope he graduates.

Unless he's a 3rd round pick or better, what is the real difference in pay?

The guys that get drafted get paid just like anyone else. You have to be on the 53 man roster to continue to get paid like you agreed in your contract, right?

Once they get cut, they don't get paid. So if he gets drafted...good, but if he is a udfa, the league minimum is still good pay...if you stay on a team.

I say, declare for NFL, if I were looking out for his interests.

Will working out for the draft delay his graduation plans? The guys that declare for the draft usually leave school and attend some training camp in Florida, Arizona, etc...School usually is on the back burner.
