Oh I know, thats why I said the 93 team was better! The 99 team was always awesome but IIRC the 93 team played a crazy schedule.

Honestly, none of these teams have faced that much pressure. It's hard to tell. Alabama somehow escapes every team in the East with a pulse. I'd say Alabama is the best, but it's pure guesswork based on prior years.

I think they are.

They look good even against bad teams. And not just by the score either. Watch their athletes fly around on defense. They are relentless and just filled with NFL talent.

And now they have a really good quarterback with great athletes in the skill positions.

The potential game with Alabama reminds me of the USC/Texas championship game in the 2005 season. Alabama going for three in a row. Winston is Vince Young-ish.

I honestly think FSU could give Alabama a ton of trouble throwing the ball against those weak corners. And Florida State will be the best defense Alabama has faced by far. I don't think Alabama will be able to wear them down like they do to everyone else. FSU is deep and physical and fast.

I think Florida State is 10 points better than anyone else in the country. So basically, 10 points better than Alabama, because Alabama is 10 points better than the next best team.

So you think FSU is 20 points better than any team other than Bama? Damn son!

Personally I'm not ready to crown this team as the best FSU team ever but I have no problems with someone believing it is. In my opinion, this team has to win the national championship to even be considered. I respect Alabama and I am completely aware that it would be FSU's toughest game of the year. However, I also believe this FSU team is the best team Alabama will have faced since Saban has been there. Some people may disagree but that's fine, it's all personal opinions at this point. I won't go as far as to say FSU would blow out Bama but if there was ever a team that could, this is it. Here's to both earning their place in Pasadena.

#1 MIGHTY Alabama vs. #2 FSU

I wouldn't want it any other way

The strength of the FSU teams of the 90's was their offense. Every game was a track meet - so much blistering speed on offense. I remember 40+ point spreads - and they would cover them. Whether or not this FSU is the best ever is up for debate - but a strong case can be made, because this defense is definitely more physical than 93 or 99.

Yep.

I mean, who else is there? Clemson is a legit top 10 team IMO, and they beat them by damn near 45 on the road.

I don't think Baylor or Oregon would fair well with their spread offenses on FSU. Stanford wouldn't be able to score enough points. Ohio State would lose by 30.

I honestly don't see who else could compete with them.

Look back at 2011 LSU, they were more hyped at this point in the season than FSU is this year. They were better than FSU is this year and the best team Saban has faced and he destroyed them in the BCSNCG. It did take him 2 tries to beat them but I still think he will be just fine with a month to prepare for FSU. I feel bad for you because I know how excited you must be and I know that Saban is gonna crush those feelings. I have been there and it SUCKS!

I think Stanford and Oregon could play with them. I also think LSU, Baylor and OSU and A and M could all stay within 20. ASU could even stay within 20 of them the way they have been playing lately.

The 2011 Alabama team would crush this year's version.

That was the best defense I've ever seen, with a better offensive line than they have this year. And Richardson and Lacy.

I see the comparison you're making, but I don't think it adds up. As good as this Alabama run has been, their teams have declined the last few years (which makes it amazing that they're still winning).

Florida state might crack the top three of hardest team Saban will have played while there. Four if you count LSU twice in 2011.

Be real. Floridia State hasn't seen a team like Bama either. The only good team they played is Clemson who has no defense. Haven't played a team who will line up and run and impose will either so don't hold your breath.

They are good but the hype is unbearable.

And Ocean. I wasn't saying based on past seasons. Bama is still undefeated. Oh, also, Florida State can also be labeled as getting their ranking carried over. Every annual high ranked team can just about. Only difference is Bama and others have capitalized and done something.

I get where you're coming from. Don't think I'm oblivious to it as the thought of Saban pulling off his masterful gameplan has come to my mind.

I don't believe 2011 LSU was better than this FSU team. Defensively, absolutely. But not even close offensively. And the key difference is a QB that can make things happen when a play goes bad. Jefferson never had that. FSU has that in Winston. Makes a huge difference, perfect example is Manziel.

If he's a senior in college right now, he would have been 7 years old in 1999.

If you're in the 20-26/7 range you probably don't remember much about the '99 team.

I could find all of their games. But who has time for that?

Look what that LSU team did in the regular season. I think you have to give them the benefit of the doubt based on all the teams they played and beat.

And LSU was the highest scoring team in the SEC, and one of the highest scoring teams in the nation that year. With the 2nd best defense. A defense that any other season would have been the best in college football by a mile.

2011 LSU > 2013 Florida State

That's why i want to see them play FSU, a team with a real defense. The SEC is not good this year -- SEC fans don't want to admit that. But the Big 12 was criticized the last couple of years because a few teams had flashy offenses, but no one had a strong defense. Same can be said this year of the SEC. What real competition has Alabama faced this year?
