We had our highest total offensive output of the year the last game of the regular season vs a top 3 opponent. We played our 3 toughest defenses in the last 5 games of that season. That is why we didnt look as good as at the beginning. We also won 2/3 of those and put up 40+ in one

To be fair, if this is true (and I have no reason to question your information), then at least we can look as scheduling as something that can possibly get in LSU's way some seasons. But...

I'm not so sure I agree on this one. A major factor IMO was the change in starting QB and subsequent change in playing style and offensive schemes.

But regardless, even the return of JJ couldn't pull the Tigers down - that season LSU was unbeaten and ranked #1.

But then 1/9 came along...
