Loyola New Orleans falls just short of making Final Four in D3 College Rugby. Lost 24-23 to Mt St Mary in the Elite 8.

Soph, what's the format for the South D2 playoffs to qualify for the national seed to Round of 8? Got AOW, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Miami, etc. Haven't seen any brackets or schedule posted any where.

Semis this weekend. Greenville at OW. Not sure who Charlotte is hosting.
Charlotte is #1 seed, so if we both win, we play at their place.

Just found this on True South website.
Looks like "Carolinas" seeds two teams to the regional final four.
NCR2 Championships (Charlotte, NC)
5/3/14 Carolinas #1 vs Carolinas #2
Florida #1 vs True South #1
5/4/14 Winner vs Winner

Also looks like only one of us from the "Caolinas" can advance, which means that he second best team in the region might not play in the Sweet Sixteen.

I remember when Loyola wasn't good. At all.

well there isn't a sweet 16 any longer. Just a Round of 8. All conferences only qualify 1 team, so you either gotta beat them on Saturday or beat them on Sunday.
May 17-18:
Eastern (Pittsburgh):
Quarterfinal 1:Midwest v Mid-Atlantic
Quarterfinal 2:Southern v Atlantic North
Western (Dallas):
Quarterfinal 3:Pacific North v Red River
Quarterfinal 4:Pacific South v Frontier
Semis on 5/18
National Final on either 5/31 or 6/1 in Madison, WI.

Oh, well I was laboring under the assumption that they kept the old playoff system. I guess I was wrong.

And frick everything. Ospreys just capitulated with four minutes to go.
Tough break man! I watched that one. It was a defensive game in which I thought you guys were the better team right up until that four minutes to go.

I think we have a shot at Scotland and Asia 1!

There's the scrum incident in Bath-Sale (mentioned above) and the ludicrous whistle in Northampton-Leicester.
I didn't see Bath-Sale but I really thought that ref was gonna award that line out in the Northampton-Leicester match. You tell everyone in that stadium was stunned cause Leicester were on the ropes after leading big.

Exeter fan ran onto the pitch after a try. Gloucester player tackled him.
Good form, nice wrap-up, head down, shoulders square.....
Looks like he drive his wanker arse into the ground!
I'm sure that fan quickly regretted that decision

Tragic stuff in the NRL. Guy broke his neck upon getting tackled and now will probably be in a wheel chair the rest of his life. Warning - graphic video

The three Ss are in the top 10, while we are 18.

Bath got fricked again. They can't expand their stadium (or put a roof over the "Gene Kelly" stand) because (A)Bath is a UNESCO site and all building things have to pass a tribunal (and that only happens when the ton council is 100% behind the changes) and (B) a bunch of angry old people led by (I'm serious) Jack Sparrow are throwing a fit over the planned expansion possible making their "charity park" smaller.
