It took 16 minutes for a scrum in the Bath-Sale match.

After about 11 attempts, one finally worked, but Bath fricked it up and Sale were able to turn it over, only for a Sale player to knock it on about two meters up the pitch.

Sale ended up winning the match by a point. They're on really good form at the moment (beat Northampton last week) and could be a factor as the season comes to a close.

How should we do in this group? I know we likely won't beat South Africa. Could be worse I guess Group A looks brutal.

Ok just finished watching the USA - Uruguay match.
What a crappy first half from both sides!! We blew several chance to score with since less turnovers inside our own 22 meter mark. (the redzone)
And terrible scrums also.

But with about 30 minutes to play, the Eagles flexed their muscles and ran away with a big win.

Referees had an absolutely terrible weekend in the Aviva Premiership.

There's the scrum incident in Bath-Sale (mentioned above) and the ludicrous whistle in Northampton-Leicester.

Leicester was leading Northampton by six, with about a minute left. Leicester also has two players in the bin and Northampton has possession inside the Leicester half. Northampton offload goes into the dirt, but Northampton keeps possession and starts moving. The poor offload allows Leicester to get back into defensive positions, and Northampton's attack stalls, but they're ~5 meters out. Leicester player punches the ball into touch. Northampton tries for a quick lineout, but the ref stops them. Northampton lines up for the lineout, but the ref stops them. Ref goes up to TMO and blows full time, although there should be (1) ten seconds left and (2) a penalty against Leicester for punching the ball out.

In other news, Worcester got their first win of the season.

Also, best match of the weekend (that I watched) was Llanelli-Connacht.

Depends on which USA shows up. We'll get demolished by SA, but the other three are all beatable. Depending on who the Asian team is, our goal should be two wins (Asia and one other).

ETA2:

Also, this happened at the Gloucester-Exeter match

Carlin Isles played his first 15s action for Ayr in Scotland this weekend. He made a nice move to score a try, but it was disallowed because he dropped the ball in goal.

I think since he was facing and moving back toward his side that it isn't a knock-on and should be a try, but the ref didn't allow it.

Garrett Reynolds.

We also have had Kenny Irons come out for a few practices.

Travis Burks, who had a pick six against LSU while at Tulane, has played a game for us and is looking forward to playing more.

Now if everyone can stay healthy and play together more...

His dad played, and he played in HS. Still getting used to things.

ETA: it was hilarious seeing Life's wing try to cut away from our wing and right int him.
