Last year, non-100-percent-public schools won every classification.

And basically nobody in 2A and 3A can win state if John Curtis and Evangel are in that classification. And nobody wants them in 5A either.

It really is unfair for the public schools that wind up in the JC/ECA classification because they play against each other in the state championship every year.

But the split applies to all schools in all classifications. So there is a "select" 5A classification that has basically 12 teams and they all make the playoffs. But as a lot of people point out, these schools rarely win state. And they don't want to play Curtis either.
