I remember hearing he had been hanging around doing some work for LSU. I agree i usually like us to hire guys that have some experience and are proven but i would make an exception for Mawae. Either way stud has to be replaced, it was a terrible idea to demote him back to oline instead of just out right replacing him. I don't like the idea of promoting someone then demoting them and expecting to get great production from them. We saw it saturday when his unit completely quit and ended up getting our qb murdered by alabama. It is one thing to have one guy that you coach quit but an entire unit doing it is a problem

Something is going on with Stud no doubt. Brick takes over his recruiting area and Stud's house is on the market, both in the same weekend.

I thought it was a bit awkward with the way Les brought in Cam and demoted Stud, but I don't think that has much bearing on the OL's performance. they've generally held up well in pass pro. we've converted some 3rd and forevers (and a lot of 3rd downs in general). you don't do that without having some pass blocking acumen.

the issue (at least in pass blocking), as someone noted earlier, is when teams know we're not running and they can pin their ears back. those last 4 plays vs. Bama were just a comedy of errors. not just the OL either, Dickson blew a block on 1 play that just cause a chain reaction of bad stuff (La'el leaves his man to get Dickson's, Vadal doesn't pick up La'el's man, Dickson is just standing there defeated).
