34 first half fouls. If you touch the offensive player, it is now a foul (over-simplification, but that is how it feels)

From one job-holder to another, the refs are itching to call every foul they can. Sometimes even before it happens. Hand check fest out there.

New emphasis this year on contact. No handchecking, forearms, etc. There have been a ton a fouls called in all the games so far this season and this game is no different. Hard to watch, but I think it'll produce better basketball once everyone adjusts to the new rule.
