bp, the pic in the post above yours is what i'm seriously leaning towards building. a few questions:
add xtra T posts where the two panels come together (on the outside) for strength aginst po'ed pigs trying to get out?

why the need to use a stick or something else to hold the panes apart at that spot? won't they just push thru?

yes, it keeps the straight panel from flexing letting the spring panel bend past it and open.

yes and no. large pigs will push in but trap shy hogs and smaller hogs will not push in. They need to know they can come and go. I usually bait the traps for a week before setting them to catch. Some people prefer to build a heart shaped trap with both of the panels acting as spring doors at the top of the heart. This design works better with the stick trigger IME
