I am an adjunct at the local community college. One class a semester gets me about $600 a month. Doing it mainly to keep a foot in academia, since I work in industry. Never know when I might be out looking for a job.

adjunct work is cool. Community college is fairly easy to get into and teaching one night a week gets you around $600 a month or so.
Plus, the students really enjoy it when you teach them real life vs. theory. And when you tell them that going to a 4 year college doesn't magically create a six figure income.
