This will be my first gun purchase. Never fired anything outside of the military outside of fricking around with some buddies a few times. First time I ever pulled the trigger on anything was boot camp. I really don't know much about guns other than the M16 and Berreta 9mm.

I still stand by the idea of getting a .22lr. It will be much cheaper to shoot and you will in return want to go shoot more often. You can buy a .22lr AR and a lifetime of ammo for the price of a BCM.

Well you know gun safety, accuracy, and how to kill things. I'd say you're pretty far along. The only thing Dale Earnhardt put together on the car was the driver's seat padding, but he sure as hell could get around a track.

I strongly suggest you build if you are at all able. The available information resources are endless and it will give you much better familiarity, appreciation of and attachment to your creation.
