Kiper gives kudos to Furman lineman

Almost famous:
Kiper: Dakota Dozier, OT, Furman Paladins
If you watched Furman hang around with LSU for a while Saturday, you should have seen Dozier. He plays tackle for the Paladins, but I think he'll end up at guard when he's in the NFL. What I see from Dozier is a player who is really aggressive, and is able to generate a ton of power as a run-blocker (another reason he will succeed at guard).
-just-how-loaded-2014-nfl-draft-classDozier is a former wrestler, and is really good at creating leverage. He's also athletic enough to consistently get to the second level. I have him at 6-3 and about 303 pounds, and he looks like an athlete. I think he'll be the first non-FBS offensive lineman drafted and I'd put him at about Round 4 if the draft were tomorrow. Again, I think he ends up inside.

They did not hang around because of offensive production.

Their offense holding the ball forever in the 1st half kept them around.

Their offense having the ball was also due to LSU busting off 50 yard tds. They were in that game because of the pick 6 and that's the only reason.

No harm in giving the guy some credit. He looked like a player for sure.
I remember watching Demarcus Ware put on an absolute freak show for Troy in 2004 when they damn near pulled off the upset in Tiger Stadium and thinking we didn't have a single player on our team that was going to have a better NFL career than that guy.
Sometimes everyone misses out on a guy and they end up at one of these smaller programs. Sometimes there are grades or other factors.
But the NFL will find them no matter where they are. That guy will make a roster and may just end up sticking around the league and playing if he works hard and continues to develop.
