"Captain Phillips" is the most intense movie I've seen since _______?

Finally got a chance to check it out last night and I was very impressed. I'm not usually a fan of the biopic genre, but I thought the movie was outstanding. Granted, there were some liberties taken regarding the character of Capt. Phillips, but the film stayed pretty true to the facts. All in all, I left the film feeling exhausted from the intensity. I cannot remember the last time a film had that effect on me.
For those of you who saw the film, when was the last time you saw a film that was as intense (physically, emotionally, spiritually, etc.) as Captain Phillips?

Honestly I don't get why this has people all worked up. So they took liberties with the story, who cares? They did it in order to make a better movie, it's not a documentary

im not getting worked up, just telling OP that it did not follow the real events accurately

I know but a lot if people seem all pissed off about it

Of course what transpired in the film is going to be exaggerated.

Are we talking about the fictional movie or the real life version?

From all I've read, the major gripes come from the portrayal of Phillips. The crew said that he was negligent and in an effort to save time and money, he ignored the piracy risks and put the crew in danger with his route. Obviously the movie did not relay this same mesage, but I was never concerned with whose fault it was. I've yet to read anything that refutes the events in the movie from the moment the pirates boarded the vessel to the moment Phillips was saved. That is what made the movie. I couldn't care less about whether Phillips was a stand up guy because I didn't get the feelings that the movie was trying to portray him as a hero in the first place.

The movie.
I've seen plenty of documentaries about significantly worse tragedies, but I don't believe any film in recent memory has been as intense as this one. I knew exactly how it would end, but I found myself clutching my arm rest and tensing my legs as the events transpired. I was spent by the time the movie was over. Despite the slow pace and long run time, once the film grabbed me, it did not let go.

Only about half of the crew has disagreed with the public record. They filed suit prior to the film getting made. It isn't the film they are debating - it is the official public record. The other crew members are in agreement with the official record.

I thought it was 45 mins too long. I kept looking at my watch. Thought a lot of the acting was bad. Only paid $5 so I'm not too upset over it

Where was the poor acting? I thought it was awesome all the way through.
But I agree with the op. I just got kutc about 30 min ago and am still tense. Movie was extremely gripping. I kept going through potential scenarios in my head of what the pirates were thinking, what Phillips' next move should be, etc...
Tom Hanks was brilliant.
