just wondering if anyone here has ever gone on a guided elk hunt in new mexico. any recommendations, advice, etc? i would really appreciate any response.

Im sure you will get a few good on topic responses here but, what you should do is go to Eastmans.com and go to their forums.
The people there are all elk/mule deer hunters and most live in the west.
For the record, I will be going to kill an elk in New Mexico next year with a good friend who's father-in-law just so guides for Quinlan Ranch.

So jelly. Would love to do that one day. I've been considered looking into a spot and stalk mule deer hunt.

Not sure if your dead set on elk or new Mexico but me and my buddy went to Montana 2 years ago for mulies and tagged out within an hour of each other the first morning. Prolly totally freak occurrence but still had a blast of a trip. We drove the 28 hours too. Hidden Valley Outfitters.
