It's not that we lose, it's how we lose. It's disheartening because we have so much talent, and we compare ourselves to Bama (which isn't fair to our program -- Saban is doing something that nay never happen again). Even though we are a top 15 program, we can never take that last, final step up into the top 5 (perennially) due to our inherent "Program Issues."

*Game Management Issues
*Being Unprepared
*Coming out flat against inferior opponents

Just off the top of my head:

2005 - losing at home to Tennessee after going up 21-0 at half. CLM also wanting to call timeout after a change if possession INT.
2007 - losing to two inferior teams and backing into the MNC
2008 - 7-5, unranked
2009 - "Clock It" game at Ole Miss/end of the game cluster at home vs Tennessee and Dooley
2011 - 1/9/12
2012 - totally Unprepared for Ole Miss at home.
2013 - lost to a depleted, 3-3, unranked Ole Miss

As his overall LSU record shows, Miles is an outstanding recruiter and a good HC. But along with that are inherent issues that will prevent the program from fulfilling it's potential.

I've accepted it. Have you?

Les is still a top coach in the country, but he has a problem getting his players to play 100% every game. It only seems to happen once or twice a season.

Reminds me of that skit on one of the comedy shows called "lowered expectations". Basically it was a skit about satisfied losers.

I think this years defense has proved that not to be the case, either.

Yes, I have accepted it. It's the best LSU can be expected to accomplish.

If you just stop comparing Miles (or any other coach) to Saban, you would see how stupid this is. Saban's in a league of one and I'd put Miles right there in the 1b class of coaches.

It's the SEC, it's competitive every year, and LSU has won just as many games by out coaching the opponent.

You forgot the UF game last year. Pretty much the same game as last night.

This is dumb. You listed about half of his losses at LSU, two games he won, and a MNC.

Other teams give out scholarships and pay their coaches too. Upsets happen sometimes. Welcome to sports

I'm sorry, you picked 7 games out of over 100. And not all those were losses.

I blame the coaches, but who else is out there? Bill belicheck has lost more games in that time frame. Is he ashitty coach? He's made stupid decisions numerous times.

Gave up my tickets after 2007.
Miles is Cholly Mac. Except he has beaten Bama 3 times.
Alas, I was at the games last night.

you’re killing me Smalls cause you’re dead on balls,

Let’s face it, LSU is now firmly ensconced as an “also ran” team. The second tier spot LSU has had on the SEC West has now given way to A&M, Auburn, and Ole Miss. LSU now will fight for the 3rd or 4th spot this year and may be the pattern until something changes. Miles and LSU have NO competition for in-state recruits, yet we have to fight Bama for the ones we do get?
