Why would we want Chavis to change? Did you not watch last years A&M game?

the main point is that it is NOT Chief that is special, but the caliber/speed of the defensive personnel he has been blessed to have when he was deemed special.

The TAMU game had an overwhelming amount of speed and talent, so we shut down TAMU. It is likely that any DC with the talent we possessed would have done well.

But, when you do not have special talent, then that is when you find out how good your coach really is. We have such a situation now, and this it the first time the talent level on the defensive side of the ball has dipped below special to average SINCE Chief's last few years at Tenn.

And so this is the time when we can make an accurate assessment of Chief. LSU's defense is very non-special when the talent is average, so there is ZERO evidence that Chief is a special mind and coach, and in fact, whenever the opposing team has the ball on the last drive and the game is on the line, it is far more likely that his schemes will proved inadequate than otherwise.

I bet the vast majority of fans and even players lacked confidence that we could stop Ole Miss, just as we saw several times with Chief.

I was hoping someone would be able to offer something that made sense as to why and how Chief was special, and no one has.

Disappointing to say the least.
