Reading through the SI article, I don't blame the players.
Does Grambling not have alumni who could donate for facility updates?

If you read the article, no one donates to the university. The school budgets ZERO dollars for donations. Best if they just shut the entire school down and convert it into a trade school.

Alums did donate. Williams used the funds to buy flooring for the weight room. Athletic administration got mad because they couldn't take their cut of the money.

The money issue is that there are people stealing appropriated funds.

ONe of the few things that I agreed with Jindal on was the consolidation of UNO and SUNO....the only history SUNO has is that it was set up by segregationists. But don't blame this entirely on the AA community...the UNO people didn't want it either. If you qualify for UNO, you go to UNO...if you don't, go to Delgado for 2 years, make the grades, take some remedials, and then transfer in. UNO is hemorrhaging students, and this would be best for both. And Grambling should merge with Tech or ULM.
