Captain Phillips gave me motion sickness

Literally. Luckily I made it to the restroom.
Needless to say, I'm not a fan of the jerky style camera action. What do you call that style? I don't like it.
The plot of the movie and the acting was quite good up until the time I had to leave to go puke.
Anybody else have this problem?

paul greengrass and the parkinson's cameraman he uses are fricking terrible
used it effectively in bourne series to help mask shitty fight choreography

A friend of mine said he had to close his eyes during parts because the camera got so crazy. He said the camera got worse once the pirates got onto the ship.
I enjoy the Bourne movies, but the shaky cam is a bit much sometimes for sure.

agreed and thanks for the warning.
That retarded camera crap is why I will never see Captain Phillips or any of the Borne sequels. The 2nd Borne movie gave me the worst headache

being a camera man today has to be the easiest job in the world. Just stand there and hold a camera free form...

What are you? Little girls. Very good movie. You can appreciate it even more if you read "No Easy Day"

I have never had motion sickness in my life, even miles an miles off shore fishing so I'm not worried about that. The shaky camera does get annoying though

Not at all. I watched it Friday and I don't really remember any jerky camera action. Was this when they were in the lifeboat?

It's funny, but I never get sea sick. However, there's something about the shaky camera that affects me.

To be fair, the movie took place at seas, so.....

I had no problems at all with the filming.

What does no easy day have to do with Captain Phillips?

Didn't see it - but, near as I can tell, nausea inducing special effects/cinematography is all Hollywood has right now.
Heck, PJ took things too far in first Hobbit film, as far as I'm concerned.
A light touch on things is almost unheard of, except for the few remaining masters - such as Ridley Scott.
(And, for the record, I liked Greengass' United 93, and the 2 Bourne movies he did.)

I thought it got much better after the beginning. Didnt really notice it too much during the main action

I hate that technique, too. "Blair Witch Project" had me throwing up. There's a series on Netflix that looks really good, Longmire, that I couldn't bear to watch because of the camera.

I sat in the third row for the second Bourne movie.
I damn near passed out.

THe Seal that wrote that book also talks about the take down of the pirates and how they did it. Made me appreciate this portion of the movie more
