I have used both. If i only have a small to medium mess of fish to clean or if they are large big boned fish i prefer a regular knife. If cleaning a ton of trout an electric knife is hard to beat.
ETA: regular knife = dexter russel
electric knife = mister twister

Dexter is what I have now, and have no problems with. Was just wondering if I was missing out on something better. I find that the narrow blades struggle withe the rib cages on redfish tho (what doesnt lol) i have a thicker blade and backbone on a knife from academy that really does well too.
I prob need to invest in a mister twister, I've just always enjoyed cleaning fish with a regular filet knife rather than electric
