Right now LSU controls their destiny in the SEC and is looking up to Oregon, Ohio St, Clemson, and Florida State in the Coaches Poll. UCLA, Miami, Baylor, and Texas Tech would jump LSU if they win out. I've seen a few threads asking "can a 1 loss SEC team make the MNC", so I wanted to look at what the other contenders have to face between now and Pasadena.

ACC
Flordia State visits Clemson this weekend. Clemson will visit SCAR and Fl State will visit the swamp at the end of the year. Whichever team wins this weekend's game between Clemson and Fl State will have to face Miami or Va Tech in their conference game if standing hold out the rest of the way.

PAC 12
Oregon has UCLA and Stanford back-to-back after they beat the piss out of WashState this weekend. Home games against the Utes and Beavers are the only other challenges left on their schedule before the PAC-12 Championship game.

UCLA has Stanford and Oregon the next two weeks. GFL with that Bruins. They get the Huskies and the Devils at home in a month with some lesser PAC teams sprinkled in before the PAC-12 Championship game.

B10
Ohio State gets Iowa at home this weekend before the Nittany Lions come to town. Games at Illinois and Michigan are the last real tests for Ohio State before the B10 Championship Game.

Big12
Baylor and Texas Tech are the last unbeatens in the Big 12, and neither one of them are going to beat Oklahoma, Texas, Okie State, and the other. Big 12 parity and whatnot. They're just on this list for the sake of completeness.

Nose pickin:
Of the teams contending to go unbeaten, Oregon and Ohio State are the most likely to win out (due to talent and schedule, respectively). Ohio State, IMO, is not a complete team. If their offense falls flat against Illinois or Michigan I don't see their defense bailing them out either of those games on the road. Oregon is good enough to slaughter any team in the Pac 12, but they will be tested by Stanford and UCLA. They will end up playing UCLA twice if both teams keep winning after they play one another. All that said, It is highly unlikely that two of the teams ahead of LSU win out, IMO.

Homer prediction: LSU vs Oregon in Pasadena January 6, 2014.
