Hank is the closest character to people I know IRL.

I'm a big Hank fan.

My favorite characters on the show were Gus and Mike though.

Hank was a bro. Although maybe a bit too straight and narrow. Granted it's hard for me to empathize with the character since I think all drugs should be legalized and Hank was completely by the book. Would have been a bit more interesting if he were somewhat flexible and been willing to take bribes from Walt. That said I get that he was set up as a white knight to juxtapose everything that Walt, ultimately, was not. Especially in regards to Jr. remembering that episode where Walt flips out when his kid doesn't look to him for approval to drink tequila, etc.

Gus was probably gay. It's funny, though, because in mid/late season three I was under the impression that he had a family.

I couldn't root for Jesse because he caused a lot of his own problems. Just take the money and shut the frick up.

I think it would have been interesting had Jesse not gone crazy and hank was forced to get walk in other ways. I don't know how it would have gone bc Walt was too tight to frick up. Hank would probably have committed suicide when he realized Walt was never going to get justice.

I spent all of season 5a and 5b loathing Walt and wishing he would die a horrible death.

Same here. I liked Walt at first. Then he turned into a greedy, narcissistic, sociopath. He was extremely delusion. I wanted him to get killed badly. Though I regained a lot of respect for him in the end when he realized how wrong he had been and made some redemption.

You're not remembering it right. The main reason shite escalated was because of Walt. He thought his genius was invincible, but in truth he made a shite ton of small mistakes that compounded and caught up to him. Walt manipulated Jessie to hell, even when Jessie tried to get out of the game.

Incorrect. Jesse basically messed up Walt's well planned out moves. That's because Jesse was a weak person. That's seen by Jesse's constant issues with substance abuse and in general being a loser.

Exactly. Were it not for Jesse Walt would have just cooked with Gale for Gus, made a few million, and stopped.

Walt knew he couldn't do it alone and always manipulated Jesse to stick around.

Jesse actually respected Walt (evidenced by calling him Mr. White)

Jesse tried to get out several times...if Walt was capable of doing it on his own (which he was not) he would have gotten away with it.

I thought he had a family too because of his comment to Walt when they were having dinner. Gus didn't seem to attempt to deceive those inside of his 'other' life. At least not about something like that.
