I was disappointed to see this. The bad thing about a 9 game conference schedule is that you are going to lose a home game at least every other year that you would have had with an 8 game schedule so until the initial 9 game confernece schedules are set ADs aren't going to know which years they are going to be losing a home game they once had. Therefore, they aren't going to commit to playing a road non-conference game for fear of not only losing 1 home game but 2 in a season if the schedule isn't done correctly. Hopefully, the schedules are figured out soon enough for the series to be re-instated.

Alabama does have West Virginia next year and Wisconsin in 2015 though.

I'm for the SEC mandating every school play at least one true road OOC game every year.

Puts everyone on an even playing field and in the long run, guarantees two at least decent OOC opponents on your schedule (due to the need to schedule home and homes). The fact that every school will automatically lose a home game every other year, is tough shite. Everyone is dealt the same hand, and deals with it.

Guaranteeing home and homes versus legit teams > guaranteeing multiple home games against nothing but a bunch of garbage cupcakes year end and year out.

The neutral site thing we have going is the best of both worlds.

That won't happen. Unless you count neutral site games.
