enjoyed a whole lot about the this first/last episode of the series.

Y'all been very positive, so let me bring in what I did not like first:

1.) If Sherri Shepard is going to be in the whole fricking season, I'll be pissed. She's only good in small doses. Uggh. She's aggravating. Maybe that's only me. My SO loves her so she was pumped. Marshall needs to be with the crew.

2.) This is going to feel like a whole long season unless the writing crew has really done a good job this off season. There's just not a lot of time/story to finish off right now, so obviously there's going to be a ton of flash-forwards (tonights I enjoyed).

3.) I'm still torn on the mother. She's pretty-ish, but still not sold on her character. I'm sure we'll learn more and grow to like her.

4.) Let's be honest. Ted just fricking sucks.

Good:

1.) Barney and Robin rolled well together. Barney was clutch and Robin didn't suck being with him. Loved the incest storyline, but am worried about their dynamic with the crew.

2.) Lilly and the drinks gag. Must continue all season. She's great.

3.) Actually, Wayne Brady. I hope he's around with the gang this season a lot. He could be the gay Barney while Barney is hooked to Robin's hip.

4.) What could they possibly do? I put it as a negative, but honestly, this is pretty exciting. There's got to be a multiple episode break-up/blow-up. A Rehearsal Dinner episode, pre-wedding gitters episode, 2-part wedding episode, 2-part reception episode/clip show?, finale. That leaves a ton more stuff for them to tell.

I definitely agree that Marshall needs to get back with the crew, but I thought there was some funny parts in his role tonight. I got some good laughs out of him trying to delete the facebook picture.

I like her a lot. She's nerdy like Ted but still is able to get along with Lily really well, and I'm sure that will carry over to the rest of the gang

Does anyone know if this is going to be a full length season or shortened a little bit? Its gonna be tough to make 20+ episodes about the wedding

full season

slap bet, another robin sparkles, lots of other stuff they can roll with. then shite like next week with the older family members arriving. they will fill it well, i have no doubts. agree with you all around on the good and bad, though.

Valid criticisms. I'll try and at least address them.

Yeah, the Planes, Trains, and Automobiles thing is going to irritate the crap out of me. Definitely the weakest part of the episode.

I think the show has always been at its best when its playing with time and memory. It creates tight writing, and their use of flashbacks has always been pretty spot on. I think this plays to the show's strengths.

You're wrong.

Yes, but I do like how the show has found Douche-y Ted. and Douche-y Ted is funny Ted. Make him the thing we laugh at, not with. The driving glove argument is pretty classic Ted comedy. He's a pretentious boob. Run with it.
