Dam dude

quote:

"I don't know if this will throw us into an NCAA investigation -- my senior year, I was getting money on the side," said Foster. "I really didn't have any money. I had to either pay the rent or buy some food. I remember the feeling of like, 'Man, be careful.' But there's nothing wrong with it. And you're not going to convince me that there is something wrong with it.

Are you fricking kidding me? They weren't even on the radar ,dickmove IMO

Nonetheless, the NCAA and the University of Tennessee probably aren't smiling about Foster's revelation.

Yes they were, for more recent players.

And it won't bring about investigation, because it's over 4 years old.

"We're hungry".

Uhhmm, I was friends with football players, they get all the food they want, with the campus meal card. No need to have an agent buy you tacos.

Arian was staring at being an UDFA out of UT. I don't hate him at all. What I don't care for is him kind of throwing his alma mater under the bus. Kind of a dick move.

All that being said, the NCAA has some serious problems.

Gotdangit, people, STOP admitting you got extra benefits and got away with it!! It rips the band-aid off the wound every time.

I fully expect Tennessee to lose 30 scholarships and a 2 year bowl ban.

Oh wait, they're not USC? Nevermind, it's all good, everybody pays players. Nothing to see here.

So is this what NFL players are going to start doing now?? I mean they are free and clear when it comes to NCAA punishment and investigation. So, once they are in the NFL are they going to just start saying what they got in college and all???

Low move by Foster.

He's lying. He doesn't pay rent if he is in a dorm. That's paid for already.

Secondly, if he didn't have any money or food, why would he automatically call the coach and tell him? Wouldn't your first thing would be to bum some money or food off one of your friends? Maybe a teammate? Somebody?

Who just calls the coach and asks him for food?

Yep, he's lying to try to help the cause of paying players.

If they investigate Tennessee, they sure as hell will be investigating Alabama.

Bama would have gotten away with a slap on the wrist, at most, if the Tennessee stuff had not escalated.

Could part of the solution to college players getting money or stipends on top of schollie aid be paying them like they would any student worker.

Just like Grad Asst and undergrad student workers get paid jobs on top of their academic schollies, in essence, you could say their sport is a university job that warrants that extra pocket money every month to be able to pay for incidentals and things. Obviously it's a lot harder for athletes to manage the time they have to put into their sport so instead of a normal student job they could get credit as an athlete/student job.

Now that doesn't stop agents and boosters getting involved but at least you have a mechanism to pay players legally through school and all the money and publicity they generate for the school.

What a damn dirt bag.

If he was going hungry, it was his own damn fault. Players get room/board. I wonder if he bought a diamond or diamonds to wear in his ear? Did he have any fancy tattoos? What kind of car did he drive?

If he wasted the money the school gave him for room/board or was living beyond the means that was provided him, that's on him.

And he wants to talk about it NOW? What a damn coward.
