man, i've already seen several passes to the tight ends. i think we'll see more. also, our full backs have got passes but not our tailbacks yet so yea, i think we'll see more. i just can't help but miss spencer ware; he was a huge weapon out of the backfield and was woefully underutilized. i think our offense, as long as mett doesn't get hurt is looking at a record breaking year. it's exciting and if our D shapes up we can be the best in the SEC even if our schedule keeps us out of atlanta.

I have never felt more confident about the offense since 06 and 07...I think the defense just has to hold on...if it looks anything like the 09 or 10 defense...then we should start booking tickets for Atlanta....and thats just being modest.

I think if last years defense, even without the honeybadger, had this offense....we would of ran through the SEC like no other.

Thanks trooploop. I don't think LSU could have hired a better dude than CC. It's kind of cool that we can get a guy like that, now let's pay him anything he wants to keep him.

This would tend to support Miles comment that he looks forward to seeing this offense at the back end of the season.... or something like that.

can someone find that quote? I think it was from earlier this week.

Id take that to mean they are still installing stuff. pretty exciting.

The RB's were commenting all summer & Fall camp bout how many passes they were being thrown in practice & as best as I can recall, besides the passes to the FB, only one RB has had a pass thrown his way. So it's in the package & with CC's reputation, I can see that being held back till league play.

Which brings up the point, we really haven't seen Cam's offense yet. I'm not saying he's running Miles' offense so no one start that shite. I'm saying he hasn't scratched the surface. Had this exact conversation with the guys at work this morning. I don't think we have been pressed enough to reveal the depth of the playbook. Good coordinators (offense and defense) are constantly setting the traps whether it is in the current game being played or the long range of the schedule. I have to believe he has more plays if needed in the back half of the season.

With the exception of last season, It sure does seem like we've seen a couple of these threads after cruising thru the "rent a win" games at the beginning of every season for nearly a decade now. That has to be the reason why I am gun shy about buying into this year's "Holding Back" theory even though I can totally see it being true.

The thing that might make this season's "Holding Back" theory finally a reality is that my brain is screaming that it is true! The past year's disappointments were fueled more by blind faith that LSU had one of the best staffs in the nation and thus they had to be holding back the good stuff for the tougher competition.

It's like we got exactly what we were dreaming of in an OC.
