Long time listener, first time poster. Got a few questions for you all...
I am doing a trip down to New Orleans October 10-13th with the GF and 3 other couples. We're all coming from Chicago. I will be the only one that has New Orleans ties (born there, went to Tulane, most my family currently lives uptown/Metairie area)- but for the most part, I'm a Chicago guy. I'm planning all the entertainment and Restaurants but wanted to get everyone on this board’s approval and suggestions.
Thursday: Everyone gets in late, so me and the GF are going to Upperline. Its close to where we are staying and one of my go to spots.
Friday: Reservation at August. Is this going to be too fancy/too expensive? Do we need to dress up? Not sure about this one...
Need a suggestion for a good spot for food/drinks and the LSU/UF game on Saturday.
Saturday Night: Reservation at Cochon. One of my favorite spots.
Sunday: Jazz Brunch at Mr. B's.
What’s everyone’s thoughts/suggestions? Am I missing anything? Thanks in advance.

I would do brunch at Atchafalaya instead of Mr. B's.
Great plan for the most part.
Yes, August is fancy and expensive. However, it is the best restaurant in NOLA IMO. You literally cannot go wrong there, but you will shell out some cash.

Interested in this as well....We'll be running the warrior dash out in St. Francisville then making the trek over to NOLA to have a fun weekened. Looking for a place to watch the LSU/FLA game and my bro mentioned something about going eat at Cochon, but any other options would be great as well....I really want to try SOBOU

I dig your plan. I second having brunch at Atchafalay instead of Mr. B's, but if you're set on Mr. B's it's a good spot for sure.
What about lunch Friday? Planned?
For the LSU game bayou beer garden would be cool but their food is terrible and it gets crowded. I would suggest lunch at Parkway since its a block away then walk to BBG early for the Lsu game and get a spot.

I'll add on that I agree about switching your brunch to Atchafalaya instead of Mr. B's, and watching the game at BBG...though the food there is just frozen bar food. I didn't care for the food at Borgne.
