We aren't facing Doug Martin this week

We're facing a team that went 1/11 on 3rd downs last week!

Our d-line has been as impressive as any this season, so far.

Do you even give rational thought to that?
I'm not trying to start a stupid cyber-war. That's for kids. I'm a Saints fan but not a HOMER.

I highly doubt that you expected the defense to do anything this season, so you should be happy with the production we've all seen thus far.

As previously stated there is definitely room for optimism. I expected the D to be as good as any Rob Ryan D anywhere else. Thanks for attempting to know what I think.

They are playing mean and aggressive, something we haven't seen in a while.

I'm lovin' that.

This team in general just looks so different from that shite show last season, they look confident they will win.

You DO realize this D is allowing more yards per rush than the D that was the worst in NFL history a year ago, don't you?
You are correct there is plenty to be excited about - it's not a total package yet though. When we get there I'll get the stiffy you already have.

Cam jordan #2 rated 3-4DE behind ONLY JJ watt. the rest of the line are playing more than 70% of downs due to injuries.

A fatass rookie and a 2nd year player playing close to that many snaps gets a break due to their lack of conditioning compared to a vet.

ATL rushed on us for 88 yards in 14 rushes, take away the "50 yard burst" it becomes 38 yards in 13 rushes

TB rushed on us for 160 yards in 33 rushes.

Collectively, giving up a 5.27ypc. take away that 50 yarder and you get - 4.3ypc. SKEWED due to low run count #s because its only been TWO games.

oh this defense also gave up 429 yards passing, 56.6 completion % and a 7.15ypa. They have also given up 3 TD passes and picked off 2 passes. All of this to go with 3 sacks and 2 fumbles. average QB rating: 76.45

The difference between last year and this year is night and day. The defense is giving up 15.5ppg (actual is giving up 12, but for sake of consistency I'm going with 15.5) meaning they are giving up almost HALF the amount of points as the "WORST DEFENSE IN HISTORY" who gave up 28.4ppg. If that isn't improvement maybe you should go back to school to understand what "improvement" is.

before you come back with some asinine comment about how "its not hard to improve from the worst defense in history" look at the fricking facts.

higher YPC and low points scored means one thing, they get one big run (i.e. jackson's), we stop them, and clamp down and force them to punt.

Last year: 440.1ypg, 28.4ppg good for 32nd in yards and 31st in points

This year: 320.ypg (Wow 120 yards LESS PER GAME against DIVISIONAL opponents too!), 15.5 ppg (almost a full 13 points!) good for 11th in the league in yards and tied for 16th in points allowed. 3rd if you don't count the interception

Want more? 320yards would have been 7th best in the league last year and 15.5ppg would have been 2nd best in the league. 12ppg would have been first.

just do us all a favor, stop cheering for the saints and go back to tiger rant
