Wonder if they are still pumping crowd noise through the speakers there.
Probably. You also have to factor in that it's not the crowd alone that is making it loud, but the design of the stadium. It's not like they are in a open bowl stadium and setting this record.

According to Guinness
The microphone must be positioned five feet above the ground.
The microphone must be at least 2.5 meters (8.2 feet) from the nearest fan.
In-stadium music and piped-in crowd noise are not allowed.
The stadium doesn't matter.
To be fair, the previous record was held by a stadium of only 53,000 fans.

Saints had a higher reading in a game in 09 vs New England
I think it was 134
Maybe this is an outdoor record

Well they reached 136.6 in this game after that, so they broke it regardless

kind of lame considering the people knew the people were there recording. the record should be when it was naturally done
This. I find it kind of pointless when that shite is coordinated to break the record.

Congrats on getting 8 decibels louder than 1 person.

I don't think our Aggie friend was referring to the noise, rather the "12th Man" thing.

Fans knew they'd be checking but it's not like they did a "1!2!3! everybody yell!" The record happened on a goal line stand in the 3rd quarter. The moment and noise itself were organic.

BS. If the croed knows they're being measured they're going to be extra loud at any chance they get. Even the folks who rarely yell at the game will, if they know they're being measurred.
It's not organic, it's staged.

I was at the Silverdome when Barry went over 2,000 yards...they had to stop play twice because it was so loud.

Its not organic if the stadium is designed specifically for that purpose. Plus the fans knew they were trying to break a record
