Was in Austin this weekend for the game, and the names you heard the most were Saban and Gruden. UT fans think they can do better than Miles.

Red McCombs writes da big checks and he likes DAVID SHAW! Time for TEXAS to bring in a big time qualified minority coach who can coach! Take this to the bank!!!!

Texas could get with Miles a coach who has the second winningest record in college ball since he joined LSU. In that span, his record is almost an 81% winning record. Brown's is 75%. They both have won a National Championship and they both have lost a national title to Bama. Miles has won his games in the hardest conference and division in college ball. Miles has consistently recruited top classes. The number of LSU first round picks and active players in the NFL surpass Texas. Miles hasn't had a season with fewer than 8 wins, whereas Brown has had as few as five wins in a season (and with all that talent in Texas..... how did THAT happen?)

No.... Texas fans wouldn't want Miles.

Yup. Miles would wipe out the state of Texas with recruiting and has strong la ties.

This could actually be VERY VERY bad for us if miles ever went to Texas.

The recruiting grounds of Louisiana would be a bloodbath, as would texas. Saban, miles, sumlin and whoever our new coach is.

Aside from ending your sentence with a preposition (sorry, I have kids I keep correcting), I agree it would be very bad for LSU if Miles were to make a jump to Texas.

In a perverse way, it would almost be worth it to see the Miles haters get what they wish for and have Miles mop the floor with them.

...and it's about to happen again, this year. Just ask the good folks at ShaggyBevo.

Poor evaluation of recruits, lack of coaching them up, no toughness taught.

That would be my guess. Texas looks soft, and gives up too easily.

He is under appreciated by many in our fan base but he is also only 2 years younger than Mack Brown. I'd think Texas would want to get a younger coach.
Mack looks 15 years older than Les.

keep the human factor in mind....the people in Texas are the same people who created the longhorn network...

their egos are as large as the stupid factor....they will try for saban...and offer him some astronomic salary because everything's bigger in texas....

According to Nola.com LSU beat writer Jim Kleinpeter Saban might be having financial problems that could push him to Texas.

How the hell do you have financial problems at $5M/yr., you eat Lil Debbies for breakfast and take-out food for dinner off your desk, etc? He doesn't go out, doesn't have an ex-wife/child support bankrupting him, can comfortably afford a hellacious drug habit, and a couple of other expensive bad habits thrown in, to boot.

Hmmmm...it must be blackmail.
