I'm really concerned about the common sense at my company

Guy made a mistake and sent an email on a company wide distribution list. So everyone got it. So far 70 people have "replied to all" stating "please take me off this list." Idiots... The president (likely his secretary) has already sent 3 emails telling people to stop. I really wish they would consider firing some of the lower achievers doing this.

I've seen this shite happen before - it came to the point the people responding were getting it noted in their performance reviews

Wow, that would piss me off if I kept getting those reply all emails. How hard is it to just ignore it?

For the rare event that I have to send a mass email, I just put everybody in Bcc. Then at the bottom of my email I put (Bcc: All Employees) or whatever the distribution list is called.
ETA: My employer actually disabled the "Reply All" function in Outlook.
