So the Seahawks are coming off a very unimpressive 12-7 win against one of the NFL's worst teams and yet they are at or near the top of everyone's power rankings and people won't stop talking about how good they are. I'm not saying they aren't good, in fact I think they are, but it seems silly for people to already putting them in the same category as the Broncos, Saints, Niners, etc. If they beat SF next week that'll be a huge win for them, but until then I'm not ready to crown them just yet.

West coast team playing against Cam in Carolina and holding them to 7 is pretty good in my book.

while there wasn't anything impressive about that win, at least they won a road game to start off with.

that was something they have struggled to do the last few years under Carroll. They've been a mediocre road team so if they can improve on that then yeah, you would have to call them an elite team.

I think the 49ers take them down at home this week fwiw though....

Carolina has a good defense and pass rush, and Wilson looked great despite scoring only 12 points.

Holding Cam to 7 points was also impressive considering Browner, Clemons, and Avril didn't play.

The noon start time (eastern time) game was also a really early start for West Coast team like Seattle, usually that's tough to adjust to.

they will go 7-1 or 8-0 at home. all they need to do is win 3 road games.

btw, only 27% of teams win those coast to coast games as visitors. that was an impressive win.

Nothing like some more overreactions. You fit in well over here.

I think Wilson is going to fight harder to keep his eyebrow than Kap.

Their offense was a lot more impressive than the score would indicate and allowing only 7 points on the road against any team with a pulse is impressive.

I'm feeling better about the game this Sunday than I was last week but they aren't going to fall flat on their faces. They're worthy of the hype.

Posted this a couple of weeks ago when someone else said the same thing...

I like looking at advanced statistics and efficiency ratings to look at how teams perform so you can remove any bias and adjust for multiple factors.

As the 2nd youngest starters in the NFL last year LINK, Seattle was rated
#4 Defense
#4 Offense
#1 Overall
LINK

Seattle pretty much returned everybody from last year, but then added Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett, and then Percy Harvin about halfway through the season. A lot of the key players are still not even in their primes yet.

Also, I found this pretty amazing. After the training wheels were taken off of Wilson last year, he had the 6th best 2nd half of the season in modern NFL history LINK

He followed that up by putting up a 115.7 QB rating (320 yards and 75.8 completion %) on the road against Carolina to start of this year. And Seattle had one of the best rushing attacks last year and returned everyone from that as well.

Huh?

They played us tough in frisco and friggin skull drug us in Sea last year.

This is a huge rivalry game and we are going in dinged up in the receiver corps. Luckily they have some injuries too otherwise their defense would match up very nice against our O.
This will be a grudge match and could go either way.

As far as the Carolina game. They traveled across country ,played early game and played a very game Carolina squad.

I hate them with a passion but will be nervous as frick Sunday night.

Terrible post is terrible.

Carolina is better than you give them credit for being and others have addressed the travel and kickoff issue. Playing at 10 am sucks.

I guess it depends on what you call impressive. Maybe they didn't do much for your fantasy team but they had the best defense in the NFL last year and held a team to 7 points in a gritty road win.

And the Carolina defense is legit.

I guess nothing makes a team look worse than a gritty road win to start the season

completely disagree. Carolina's defense is legit and the fact that a west coast team won the game is a huge statement.

Btw, whenever Carolina finds a legit 2nd receiving threat they will be a better team.

Wait, I think there's one team out of place in this sentence, and it's not the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, or Denver Broncos. What exactly have the New Orleans Saints done to be grouped with the NFL's best? They're a year removed from being 7-9. As of now, they are behind at least the Seahawks, 49ers, Broncos, Packers, Texans, Bears, Falcons (one win against them to start the season doesn't change my mind) and Patriots in my book.
